Los Angeles Trade Technical College Gathers History in Summer Reunions

The Studio for Southern California History, in collaboration with Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, has organized monthly reunions throughout the summer for alumni, current and retired faculty and staff, and current students to share their memories of the school. These weekend events are forums for the sharing and documenting of the school's history. The reunions are scheduled from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 24; Sunday, July 23; and Sunday, August 30, 2017.

The first reunion is scheduled for Saturday, June 24, from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm in Aspen Hall in tandem with the 3rd Annual Teamsters Local 399 & the Basic Crafts Classic Car & Motorcycle Show. Alumni and retired staff are invited to come by and share their experiences in a formal interview. The second and third reunions will take place on Sundays from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Founded in 1925 as the Frank Wiggins Trade School, Trade-Tech is the oldest of the nine public two-year colleges in the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD). The Studio for Southern California History is a nonprofit organization that works in collaboration with many talented individuals and institutions in order to fulfill our mission to critically chronicle and disseminate the region's social history in order to foster sense of place.

Los Angeles Trade-Technical College is documenting its role in fostering innovation throughout the 20th and early 21st centuries through the experiences of those who knew it best - current and former faculty, staff and students.
