May 29: Los Angeles honors Memorial Day with a parade, the plot dedication to World War I's Rainbow Division at Exposition Park, and planned events across the city. Police Chief Davis warns that the Communist groups who plan on a parade through downtown without a permit will be prosecuted should they obstruct traffic. According to the Los Angeles Times, "Members of patriotic organizations of West Los Angeles will join officials and inmates of the National Military Home in a parade beginning at 9 am at Sawtelle and Wilshire Boulevards. The paraders will march to the cemetery to addresses by Thomas Foley and J. H. Vilas."
